About Us, What to Expect?

Our church family is a loving, close-knit group of Christians trying our best to live for Jesus Christ. We’re not perfect, of course, but we’re striving each day to let God’s Word be our guide for everything we do, in everyday life, at work, at school, at church. . . everywhere. Many of us come from different backgrounds and we work in different fields, but we share a common love for Jesus Christ and His church and for each other and look for opportunities to share that love with others.

Our worship is simple, yet profound. We aim to worship God according to the pattern revealed in the New Testament, understanding that while we benefit from worshiping God, our goal is to please Him, not ourselves. We worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). We sing (Ephesians 5:19) a capella hymns as a congregation. We partake of the Lord’s supper each week (Matthew 26:26-29) as a memorial to the death of Christ. We give money (1 Corinthians 16:1-2) to support the work of the church (visitors are not expected to give). We pray (Acts 2:42) and we listen to a sermon (Acts 20:7) from the Bible.

A warm welcome awaits!

Visitors are always welcome to the services of the Ocoee Street church of Christ. We trust that you will find an atmosphere that is not only warm and friendly, but also one that is devoted to following the pattern of the early church as it is recorded in the New Testament.
